General Data Processing In general, the UK Branch does not hold or process the personal data of its members. All membership records are maintained by the National Office of Engineering New Zealand in Wellington, New Zealand. The UK Branch does not maintain a contact list for members in the UK for the purpose of communicating with members. All communications with members are distributed by National Office using the contact information they hold within their membership records. However, the branch does occasionally collect or receive member's personal information and the following explains how that information is handled.
Note that the UK Branch is run on an entirely voluntary basis by members of the branch committee. As such, it does not maintain data processing facilities dedicated only to the operation of the branch. All electronic data processing is performed on committee members' personal computing equipment. All members take every care to ensure that any personal data they process on their equipment is performed in a secure manner so as to protect the confidentiality of that data. The data is not held for any longer than is necessary for the purpose for which it was collected. |
